The wrestling world has been rocked by serious allegations against Vince McMahon, a polarizing figure in sports entertainment. Amid ongoing discussions and controversies surrounding McMahon, particularly concerning allegations of trafficking, new developments have emerged as both McMahon and WWE have received waivers of summons in the sex trafficking lawsuit filed against them.

On January 25th, Janel Grant, a former WWE staff member, initiated legal action against WWE, John Laurinaitis, and Vince McMahon, alleging instances of sexual assault, emotional abuse, and sex trafficking dating back to March 2019. These allegations have tarnished McMahon’s reputation and triggered widespread condemnation within the industry.

Brandon Thurston took to Twitter to report on the legal proceedings involving McMahon and WWE in the case of Grant v. WWE et al. Waivers of summons dated March 15 for McMahon and WWE surfaced on the court docket, alongside a waiver of summons for John Laurinaitis on the same date.

Janel Grant’s attorney, Ann Callis, had previously indicated that all three parties received waivers of summons on March 15, a fact confirmed by Thurston’s report. The defendants have until May 14 to respond, with a 60-day window from March 15.
