Ivar Declares He Is Ready For Oba Femi After 4/16 WWE NXT

Ivar is currently on a roll as a singles star, even if he was defeated by Sheamus on RAW this week. After a huge win on NXT this week, Ivar has declared that he is ready for Oba Femi.

In an NXT Exclusive interview, Ivar was asked about his win and whether it would lead to a match against Oba Femi for the NXT North American Championship. Ivar confidently responded,

“You’re damn right I am. I’m ready. Briggs got me fired up. I love hitting, and that man brought it. Oba Femi will bring it to me too, and I’m prepared for him.”

Ivar acknowledged Femi’s dominance in NXT, noting, “This man has been unstoppable in NXT. No one can bring him down. But I did. I brought him to his knees, I put him on the mat.” He contrasted Femi’s newer career with his own extensive experience:

“Femi has around 12 to 15 matches in the books, but I’ve got 23 years of experience. I’ve never had things handed to me. He got the red carpet treatment in NXT, but not me. My journey has been full of failures and heartaches.”

Ivar spoke of his past challenges, including a pandemic, a broken neck, and a long journey in the wrestling world.

“Now, in 2024, in NXT, I will have my first opportunity for a singles championship in this company, and I will not squander it,” Ivar said.

Ivar acknowledged Oba Femi’s strengths—his size, power, and impressive track record. However, he expressed confidence in his own battle-worn and battle-tested experience as the War Beard. He concluded with a challenge to Femi: “Ivar’s ready, but is Oba?”

A match for the NXT North American Championship between Oba Femi and Ivar has yet to be determined but it is likely fans will get to see the two behemoths clash sooner rather than later.
