Last week’s SmackDown witnessed a dramatic shift within The Bloodline. Without Roman Reigns’ leadership, the group underwent significant transformations, including Solo Sikoa kicking out Jimmy Uso and bringing in Tama Tonga. In fact, Triple H was informed about Tonga’s NJPW contract expiring last year.

In a surprising move, Solo Sikoa decided to side with Tama Tonga, teaming up with the attacker. Together, they targeted Jimmy Uso, appearing to seek retribution for his defeat against Jey Uso at WrestleMania.

One of Tonga’s long-time friends from their Bullet Club days, Karl Anderson, spoke with Busted Open Radio recently and revealed that he was the one who informed Triple H of Tonga’s upcoming contract expiration with NJPW over a year before Tonga signed with WWE.

Anderson shared that he informed WWE’s Chief Content Officer about Tonga’s contract situation after the two faced off in the NEVER Openweight Title match at New Japan’s WrestleKingdom 17 event in January 2023.

“After my Tokyo Dome match in 2023, which Triple H let me do, because we signed back with WWE and I was still a champion in New Japan and he still allowed me to go do two more dates with New Japan Pro-Wrestling with no issue at all.

“But I remember texting Triple H and telling him, ‘Tama Tonga’s contract is coming up and I think Tama’s a full-blown can’t-miss if you ask me’ and he wrote back right away and it took a year to get it done but, like I said, I’m a big believer in stuff happening for a reason and now he’s here and yeah, the changes and being able — I think Vic (Joseph) called me ‘The Machine Gun’ on NXT recently and even just hearing that, kind of, still kind of crazy…”

The internal reaction to Tama Tonga’s debut was also revealed. Tama Tonga joining The Bloodline had been in the works for a long time now. We will have to wait and see how the storyline will play out, as fans are certainly invested in it in a big way.
