The new Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes, received support from numerous allies on his journey to WrestleMania 40. This week on RAW, Rhodes aimed to repay the favor, offering his assistance to Main Event Jey Uso. However, Jey Uso respectfully declined Rhodes’ offer. Interestingly, the purpose behind Rhodes’ promo on RAW has now been revealed.

During this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, Cody Rhodes took the opportunity to reflect on recent events. He shifted his focus from his WrestleMania 40 victory to the potential No.1 contender for WWE Backlash, which will be either LA Knight or AJ Styles, with the decision being determined on this week’s SmackDown.

Rhodes expressed gratitude to his “WrestleMania Shield,” Seth Rollins, for his support on the road to WrestleMania 40. He also addressed his former rival, The Rock, who had made comments on social media about making Rhodes bleed again, with Cody countering that he would make Rocky bleed with him.

Rhodes discussed Roman Reigns’ absence and the latest developments within The Bloodline, including Solo Sikoa taking charge, betraying Jimmy Uso, and introducing new SmackDown star Tama Tonga to the faction.

Cody then invited his ally Jey Uso to the ring, as Jey was set to face Judgment Day’s Finn Balor. Concerned that Jey might be outnumbered, Rhodes offered his support as a shield, but Jey politely declined, preferring to handle the situation on his own. Rhodes left the ring, leaving the possibility open for future collaborations with Jey Uso.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that the intention was to convey that Cody Rhodes is transitioning to SmackDown, marking his farewell on RAW. Additionally, Cody took the opportunity to endorse Jey Uso as the new top figure on the show, with Seth Rollins no longer around

“The idea was basically to tell you that he’s a SmackDown guy, and this was his farewell, and to endorse Jey Uso because with Seth Rollins gone, Jey Uso is the guy now.”

We will have to wait and see whether Jey Uso will eventually become a World Champion in WWE, as he is set to square off against Damian Priest for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at the Backlash Premium Live Event on May 4th.
