The commaradery between wrestling veteran Chris Jericho and young upstart known as HOOK has been evident for weeks, with the duo teaming up for matches and even squaring off against each other in a blockbuster showdown.

The former AEW World champion extended an offer to mentor HOOK, which the Handsome Devil has mostly accepted. However, their partnership has hit some bumps, including a recent loss in a trios match to Shane Taylor Promotions, comprising Shane Taylor, Anthony Ogogo, and Lee Moriarty.

In recent interview with Bill Apter at Sportskeeda, fellow AEW star Ricky Starks, who has been former allies with Chris Jericho, shared his thoughts on his former Team Taz colleague, HOOK.

Starks stated massive praise for HOOK and suggested that he might not need a mentor, considering his father is the wrestling veteran, Taz. Moreover, Ricky Starks also mentioned that if he was in HOOK’s position, he would politely decline Chris Jericho’s offer and seek guidance from his dad or himself.

“HOOK is the man. He’s really cool. I don’t know if HOOK needs someone to take him under his wing. Don’t forget, his father is Taz. If I was HOOK, I would politely decline Jericho’s offer and go talk to his dad, or me.”

Ricky Starks and HOOK were previously part of Team Taz while Starks has had numerous run-ins with The Ucho throughout their careers. With the former AEW World Tag Team champion knowing both individuals well, his take on their situation surely holds weight and could possibly influence HOOK’s decision moving forward.
