At WWE WrestleMania 40 on Sunday, LA Knight emerged victorious against the renowned AJ Styles, but the two aren’t done with each other just yet. In fact, LA Knight sent a message to The Phenomenal One ahead of this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown.
The first match of the night on SmackDown last week showcased The Megastar LA Knight, who secured victory and advanced to this week’s match. In separate bout, AJ Styles, Kevin Owens, and WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio all vied for the same opportunity. Ultimately, The Phenomenal One emerged victorious. Therefore, LA Knight and AJ Styles will now face each other to determine the #1 contender for Cody Rhodes’ title at the upcoming Backlash event.
LA Knight recently shared video on Twitter/X where he talked about his upcoming rematch against AJ Styles and reflected on his recent success. He also claimed that he was simply unstoppable.
“What do you want? Always looking got something, ain’t you? Guess what? You found something. You found the man who’s stepping up. Number one contender, yeah. Well, maybe not quite yet. You look at next week, you still got one more match at the end of tonight. But then you look at next week, whoever I face, doesn’t make a damn bit of difference. I win at WrestleMania, I win at SmackDown, it goes on and on. There is no stopping the gravy train. There is no stopping this kavorka, there is no stopping LA Knight, yeah.”
His words set the stage for a high-stakes, intense showdown between the two competitors as they vie for the #1 contender spot for Cody Rhodes’ Universal Championship at Backlash.
