WrestleMania 40 presented itself as an opportunity for all WWE superstars to be a part of the most extravagant and biggest edition of the show, which it rightfully turned out in terms of generating business for the company.

However, SmackDown star and the newest member of the LWO, the dynamic masked luchador Dragon Lee missed out on his chance to compete at the Showcase of the Immortals alongside his idol, Rey Mysterio.

The WWE Hall of Famer had picked Dragon Lee to be his partner to square off against his estranged son Dominik Mysterio and arch-rival Santos Escobar. But on the SmackDown before WrestleMania 40, Dragon Lee was found to be attacked backstage by an unknown assailant.

While Rey Mysterio found himself partner in Andrade El Idolo to compete alongside him, Lee was nowhere to be seen during the WrestleMania festivities. Now, a week after missing out on a golden chance, the former NXT North American champion broke his silence on X addressing the situation and calling out his attacker.

With Dragon Lee likely to return to WWE television programming this week, it will be interesting to see the turnout of this storyline which is possibly pointing towards a betrayal within the LWO after much speculation on social media and hints dropped on SmackDown last week.
