The intense rivalry between once-Damage CTRL cohorts-turned-bitter enemies, IYO Sky and Bayley came to its conclusion at WrestleMania 40 Sunday in a spectacular one-on-one showdown that saw The Role Model pick up the win and clinch the WWE Women’s Championship.

The feud intensified with the onset of Bayley winning the 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble match and choosing IYO Sky as her opponent, after finding out her true feelings about herself under the influence of The Kabuki Warriors. The differences continued to escalate week after week, with even Dakota Kai berating Bayley and choosing IYO’s side pitting The Role Model alone to fight this war.

Bayley and IYO Sky hit each other with every power-packed move in their artillery looking to display dominance over each other and secure the win on the Grandest Stage of them all with the stakes higher than ever. Moreover, the bout went all over ringside with IYO and Bayley using the environment to their advantage.

Toward the end of the title match, IYO Sky tried to attack the injured leg of Bayley, turning into the lefts and rights between them and connecting with their signature moves but still without any decisive finish. The final moments saw Bayley countering IYO Sky, connecting with the Bayley to Belly followed by an elbow drop and her finisher move to secure the pinfall.

With her win, Bayley has etched an all-important moment of glory at WrestleMania in her resume and risen above all odds to win the WWE Women’s Championship at the Showcase of the Immortals.
