The addition of Mercedes Martinez to AEW has sparked a significant transformation in the promotion’s landscape. As one of the most prominent figures in the history of the Jacksonville-based promotion, her signing has created considerable buzz and anticipation among fans and wrestlers alike.

Before her AEW debut, Mercedes Mone was known as Sasha Banks and spent several years in WWE, where she was one of the company’s biggest stars in the women’s division.

During the latest episode of his Story Time with Dutch Mantell podcast, Mantell revealed that Sasha Banks had never spoken to him or even greeted him, despite their time working for the same promotion a few years ago. He then accused her of acting like royalty backstage in WWE.

“You know that woman [Mercedes Mone] has never spoken to me. She never even said hello to me. That’s just when I was in WWE with her. She never said, ‘Hi Dutch’ or ‘Hi Zeb’. She never said any of that to me. I don’t know why, she just never spoke. See, it’s actually a protocol for the younger talent to say hello to the established talent first. That’s just like protocol. But she never did… No, I didn’t [say hello to her]. She didn’t speak, so that was telling me, ‘Well don’t speak to me, I’m royalty’ and I said, ‘Okay.’ That’s what I got in my head.”

On the other hand, Bayley was ecstatic seeing Mercedes Mone’s debut in AEW. Nevertheless, some fans might just agree with what Dutch Mantell had to say, considering her reputation.
