Drew McIntyre has taken on the role of WWE’s #1 antagonist due to his recent attacks on CM Punk and others. His current portrayal as a heel is a departure from anything fans have seen from him before. McIntyre has revealed how he integrates offensive humor into his character to further solidify his role.

Instead of portraying a menacing ‘heel’ as he has in the past, ‘The Scottish Warrior’ has embraced a persona centered on authenticity and speaking his mind. While speaking on the Masked Man show, he believes this approach sets him apart on the roster and encourages others to do the same.

“Just two weeks away from my WrestleMania match against WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, I’ve realized the importance of being true to myself.”

“Trying to be genuine, logical, and injecting fun into what I do has resonated positively with the audience. From 2019 to 2023, there was more truth in my portrayal than ever before in WWE, but now it’s 100 percent me.”

When discussing his social media presence, ‘The Scottish Warrior’ revealed that his sense of humor tends to be darker or edgier compared to others. McIntyre’s brand of humor contributes to his ‘heel’ character, polarizing fans who either adore him or eagerly anticipate his downfall.

“…I’m always attentive to feedback. It’s very much a collaborative effort, but it’s worth noting that the British personality and sense of humor differ significantly from the American counterpart. We tend to be quite edgy and unapologetically offensive.”

When reflecting on his social media presence, ‘The Scottish Warrior’ disclosed that his humor leans towards the darker and edgier side compared to others. McIntyre’s unique brand of humor further enhances his ‘heel’ persona, dividing fans into those who admire him and those who eagerly await his defeat.

“…I’m constantly tuned in to feedback. It’s truly a collaborative process, but it’s important to acknowledge the distinction between British and American humor. We Brits tend to embrace edginess and unapologetic offensiveness.”

We will have to wait and see whether Drew McIntyre’s heel character will continue to evolve and fans will get to see more layers of his gimmick, as they simply can’t get enough of him right now.
