Austin Theory possesses immense potential and is viewed as a rising star within WWE. Despite recent setbacks, many believe that he still holds the promise of becoming the next big star in the company.

Austin Theory was heavily pushed until last year, even successfully defending his United States Title against John Cena at WrestleMania 39. However, the experiment wasn’t very successful, as Theory struggled to connect with viewers. Currently, he is aligned with Grayson Waller on SmackDown.

Despite Austin Theory’s recent decline in momentum within WWE, Coachman expressed his belief on his Behind The Turnbuckle podcast that Theory is “the next guy.” Coachman emphasized that Theory, although not an overnight success, has been around for a while and has the potential to become a major star in the company.

The former color commentator further elaborated that Theory has been diligently striving to solidify his position as a top performer within WWE. He mentioned that Theory had opportunities to develop his persona outside of WWE, which prepared him for his arrival in the company.

“He [Theory], to me, he’s the next guy. He’s the next guy. And people think that he’s an overnight success. He’s been around for a minute. He’s not, you know, he’s not brand new.”

However, Coachman noted that Theory faced challenges with his creative ideas being rejected and being accused of imitating others’ catchphrases while attempting to establish himself. Despite not witnessing these issues firsthand, Coachman expressed his belief that Theory has the potential to be a significant player in WWE.

“And so, he’s had chances to kinda figure himself out away from the WWE, so then when he got here. But I saw a recent interview with him where he talked about how they used to shoot down his ideas all the time, and he’s trying to figure out and he gets accused of ripping off, you know, catchphrases and all these different things when he’s just trying to make a name for himself. And I haven’t seen any of that, but I’m just, I’m kinda paraphrasing what the interview said. But I think he could be, Tommy.”

Interestingly enough, WWE was also urged to take Austin Theory off television. Theory is set to team up with Grayson Waller and square off against The Good Brothers on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, so we will have to wait and see whether Theory will eventually become the next big star in WWE one day.
