AEW made its debut in 2019 with significant momentum, reaching its peak after All Out 2021 when many believed it was poised to dominate the pro wrestling world. The company saw a steady decline last year, but things have been picking up again. Ahead of Big Business tonight, Tony Khan claimed that AEW is stronger than ever before.

For quite some time, AEW has faced challenges in selling tickets for its weekly shows, sparking concerns among fans and industry observers alike. This trend of ticket sales struggles has persisted over the past year and shows no signs of improvement. Furthermore, AEW’s ratings for its televised events have also experienced a steady decline, compounding the challenges facing the promotion.

With that said, 2024 has been a strong year for AEW so far with solid matches and events, on top of some incredible signings. In case you forgot, AEW will be presenting the Big Business special edition, Dynamite, emanating from the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.

During an interview with Scott Fishman of TVInsider.com, AEW President Tony Khan expressed his excitement for the “Big Business” edition of Dynamite, assuring fans that it would be a memorable event. Khan highlighted the influx of major names joining the promotion, emphasizing that the show would feature the strongest line-up yet.

Reflecting on AEW’s journey since its inception, Khan noted the significant resources and talented roster that have propelled the promotion to its current success. He emphasized AEW’s status as an attractive destination for top wrestling talent, citing the ongoing expansion and growth as evidence of its popularity and strength.

“I promise I will not disappoint the fans tonight. There has been an influx of huge names, and tonight is the biggest show yet.”

“When we launched AEW, it was the first time in many years that so many resources and such a strong roster of wrestlers have come together to form a new challenger promotion. After five years, AEW is now stronger than ever before. Our roster continues to get deeper and better. This has become a popular destination that top stars seek out. This is the perfect time to continue expanding and growing. That is what tonight is all about. AEW Big Business. With such a strong group of wrestlers in AEW today, we’ve come so far from the beginning of 2019.

Khan praised the current AEW roster as the best in professional wrestling today, attributing the continuous improvement to the addition of new talent and the promotion’s commitment to innovation. He expressed confidence that the “Big Business” show on TBS would exemplify AEW’s spirit of innovation and determination to always strive for improvement.

Now we have what I believe is the best roster in pro wrestling today. There are still so many great stars out there we are always looking to add and strengthen the group. I think we will continue to try to strengthen whenever we can add someone’s skills to make AEW better. I think that constant innovation and the perpetual strides toward always wanting to get better are a big part of the spirit of AEW. I think tonight’s Big Business show on TBS will showcase that innovation and fighting spirit.”
