Originally, Kenny Omega was set to team up with Chris Jericho in their quest for the AEW World Tag Team Championships. Unfortunately, he couldn’t participate in the competition due to diverticulitis. To make matters worse, Omega has now revealed abandoned plans for a cross-promotional match before his health setback.

Kenny Omega faced a life-threatening situation with a 50% chance of death due to a severe illness. Reports indicated that his crucial recovery surgery had been postponed, leading to an indefinite hiatus from his professional commitments.

The Best Bout Machine isn’t cleared for an in-ring return but has maintained an active presence on Twitch. While speaking on his Twitch stream, Kenny Omega revealed that he was supposed to square off against Pro Wrestling Noah’s Kenoh and the match was supposed to take place this week itself, but plans were abandoned due to his sickness.

”The chat that’s familiar with Kenoh, he’s very good. I hate saying sad stories, but the Keno match could’ve actually happened and it’s my fault that I’m sick right now. Yeah, it would’ve happened a couple of days ago actually, so it’s a shame.”

Kenny Omega will likely return to AEW television soon, so it remains to be seen how Omega will be booked upon his return, as there is a chance the cross-promotional match could happen in the future.
