Cody Rhodes was resolute in confronting The Rock during this week’s Friday Night SmackDown, and his determination came to fruition as he ultimately delivered a slap to The Great One during the show. Amusingly enough, Rhodes’ slap was compared to Will Smith’s infamous Oscars incident as well.

This week on SmackDown, a highly anticipated face-off unfolded between The Rock, Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, and Seth Rollins following weeks of verbal sparring. Cody and Seth joined Rock and Roman in the ring, with Cody addressing the situation. The Rock, reflecting on the challenge’s stipulations, faced verbal jabs from Seth.

Despite the tension, The Rock remained unfazed, delivering personal attacks on Cody. Frustrated, Cody retaliated by emulating The Rock and slapping him across the face as SmackDown concluded, seeking revenge for a previous incident at the WrestleMania 40 kick-off press event.

Mark Henry took to his Instagram and uploaded a post regarding Cody Rhodes slapping The Rock, which compared the slap to Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars back in 2022. In this case, Pharaoh was Jada Pinkett Smith.

”Did you watch SmackDown last night? How do you feel about Cody Rhodes receipt that he gave to @therock as #smackdown went off the air? We’re talking about it all on @bustedopenonsiriusxm so tune in this morning @davidlagreca1 @americannightmarecody

In the end, Cody Rhodes accepted The Rock’s challenge for him and Seth Rollins to face The Rock and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40. It remains to be seen how WWE will continue to book The Rock and Cody Rhodes’ feud in the coming weeks as we approach WrestleMania 40.
