AEW fired BJ Whitmer after news of his arrest last year. BJ Whitmer has been charged in connection with his domestic violence arrest from June. In June, Whitmer was arrested on charges of first-degree strangulation and second-degree burglary. He has now been charged for his crimes.

BJ Whitmer had heat in AEW prior to his arrest. That arrest was certainly enough to cause his firing from the company. AEW has since offered assistance to Whitmer’s victim.

BJ Whitmer has resolved his recent criminal issue after facing legal troubles. He was arrested on June 4, 2023, in Boone County, Kentucky, on charges of first-degree strangulation and second-degree burglary related to an incident involving his ex-girlfriend. The bond set for him was $25,000.

BJ Bethel has reported that Whitmer was sentenced to five years of probation and 120 days of home incarceration in relation to the case. The former AEW producer opted for an Alford plea, asserting his innocence but acknowledging that there is sufficient evidence for a potential conviction in a jury trial.

Choosing this plea allows him to expunge the felony from his criminal record in five years. The prosecution did not offer specific details explaining the rationale behind extending this particular deal. Some fans might be disappointed with the sentencing for this case and that’s unlikely to change anytime soon.
