AEW wrestler Mike Santana, formerly known as Santana, has recently been conspicuously absent from the company’s official website roster page and it has now been confirmed that he has exited the company.

Fightful Select confirmed the news that the AEW star has departed from the company, writing, “Fightful Select can confirm Mike Santana is now gone from AEW after he was removed from their roster page. We will have more details this week.”

Santana had been a fixture in AEW since 2019, initially forming a formidable tag team with Ortiz, with whom he had previously partnered as part of LAX before their AEW tenure began.

However, real-life discord between the two led to their estrangement as a tag team, beginning in early 2022. Despite this, both Santana and Ortiz found themselves aligned with the Blackpool Combat Club during its rivalry with the Jericho Appreciation Society later that year.

During the climactic Blood & Guts match that concluded this feud, Santana sustained a significant injury, sidelining him until his return to action at All In London in August 2023.

Despite their personal differences, Santana and Ortiz were once again placed on the same team, this time alongside the BCC, in a Stadium Stampede match against Eddie Kingston, Penta El Zero Miedo, and the Best Friends.

Following this, they engaged in a brief feud culminating in Santana’s victory over Ortiz on Rampage in October 2023. However, Santana has not made any appearances in AEW since then.
