Charlie Dempsey is one of the rising stars in NXT and he proved his worth this week after he defeated Noam Dar to become the new NXT Heritage Cup Champion. Dempsey has now made it clear that cup means more than any title in NXT.

In this week’s WWE NXT episode, Dar faced another defense of the NXT Heritage Cup. Following their challenge a few weeks ago on the show, a member of No Quarter Catch was set to vie for the title against Dar.

Charlie Dempsey emerged as the championship challenger for the week. Although Dempsey initially took control with a pinfall kickstart in the first round, the tables turned when the champion attempted to secure a knockout in the third round. However, interference from No Quarter Catch proved distracting, allowing Dempsey to secure second pinfall and claim the NXT Heritage Cup championship.

While speaking in a backstage interview after NXT, Charlie Dempsey was prompted to express the significance of his victory. Dempsey made it clear that the Heritage Cup win means more to him than any title in NXT.

“This cup right here means more than any world title here. Ever since I signed to WWE three years ago as part of NXT UK, I’ve had my eyes on this Cup. I finally did. I’m finally the Heritage Cup Champion. Three years in the making, and I’ve got it.”

It is likely that Naom Dar will want a rematch with Charlie Dempsey and get back the NXT Heritage Cup. We will have to wait and see how Charlie Dempsey will be booked as the champion in the coming weeks till then.
