Since his rivalry with Swerve Strickland kicked off, Hangman Page has been on a whole new level with his character work. This week’s Dynamite episode featured Page teaming up with Rob Van Dam and hook to take on Strickland, Samoa Joe, and Brian Cage in a trios match.

While Joe was able to make RVD submit to end the show, Hangman Page stole the headlines when he was seen limping back to the locker room with fans speculating a possible injury for the 32-year-old after the brutal match.

While there hasn’t been any official update on Hangman Page’s injury, a new report from Fightful Select has given a massive update to fans. As per the report, Page had been trying to add an angle and wasn’t injured. He regained control over his ankle when he got backstage suggesting that it was just something he wanted to show to the fans.

“At the conclusion of his match on the February 21 AEW Dynamite, Hangman was holding his ankle and encouraging the cameras to not film him. He was helped to the backstage area and limped there, but we’re told that this was an angle, and he was fine once he got backstage.”

“We’re told this could be worked into the show now, but upon returning to the backstage area, Page was completely fine. One talent used a phrase that has often been used in situations like this “yeah, he’s okay. He’s just good at his job.”

In the end, it turns out Hangman Page’s apparent injury was all part of the show. His commitment to his character shines through, reminding us of the magic of storytelling in wrestling.
