James Laurinaitis, who was one of the most sought after athletes in all of professional football and the son of WWE Hall of Famer Road Warrior Animal, played the position of linebacker at Ohio State University from 2005 to 2008 before being drafted in the second round of the 2009 NFL draft.

Now, Laurinaitis is set to embark on a new chapter in his football journey. According to reports from Ohio State University, he has been elevated to the position of linebackers coach following his invaluable contributions as a graduate student coach during the 2023 season.

Back in February 2023, Laurinaitis revealed in an interview that he returned to Ohio State as a coach with aspirations of becoming the Buckeyes’ linebackers coach.

“I think for me, it all starts with, can I be the best linebacker coach in the country? And can I aspire to do that at my alma mater? I think that kind of to me is the first thing that comes to mind, and so I’ll attack this year with that vision.”

With his stellar track record as a standout linebacker at Ohio State and a successful NFL career, Laurinaitis is well-equipped to mentor and nurture the next generation of linebackers. His blend of on-field expertise, coaching experience, and unwavering commitment to excellence makes him an ideal candidate to lead the Buckeyes’ linebacking corps.

As Laurinaitis steps into his new role, the football community eagerly awaits to see how his vast experience and passion for the game will shape the future of Ohio State’s linebackers.
