AEW has emerged as a major opportunity for athletes who are looking to establish themselves as rising stars of the wrestling world. After five years since its inception, it may be time that they are headed towards new direction in terms of televised programming.

Tony Khan’s company has been positioned as a prime-time attraction for television networks, TNT and TBS for their flagship shows, Dynamite, Rampage, and Collision. Moreover, it has been viewed as a significant beacon of opportunity for stars like Ricky Starks, MJF, Darby Allin, and more.

However, the host of Wrestling Observer Andrew Zarian took to his X to report some interesting news regarding AEW’s rumored new direction. This came amidst the major announcement of Monday Night RAW finding its new home on Netflix for broadcasting, starting in 2025.

Zarian noted that a close source mentioned to him that All Elite Wrestling was headed in the direction of becoming a cable/streaming hybrid show.

“Since we are on the topic of TV and Streaming rights. A source mentioned to me that is very possible for AEW to become a cable/streaming hybrid show. Much like how the NBA simulcasts on TNT and Max.”

With AEW’s rivals, WWE taking an entirely new direction with reported 10-year Netflix deal worth $ 5 billion, it could be interesting to see if this story indeed comes true bringing a fresh change in Tony Khan’s approach.

Do you think AEW should become a cable hybrid show going forward? Sound off in the comments!
