WWE released a lot of talent in September 2022. Their non-compete clauses are up at this point, and it some of those people are already performing for other companies. Shelton Benjamin is still doing his thing off the radar, and the idea of him arriving in AEW must be a welcomed one for fans.

Shelton Benjamin has not ended up in AEW yet, but that option is still not closed for him. At this time, it appears that his name hasn’t come up.

Sean Sapp said during his Backstage Report podcast behind Fightful’s paywall that AEW has not reached out to Shelton Benjamin yet. That being said, there are some people within AEW who are pulling for him.

“Last I heard a couple of weeks ago, AEW had not reached out to him. There were some people that pushed for him, but they have not reached out to him that I have heard of.”

We will have to see if Shelton Benjamin makes his way to AEW. At this point, you never know what Tony Khan has up his sleeved, but Benjamin could be a big benefit to their roster.

Shelton Benjamin has a ton of experience competing in big matches for WWE. Only time will tell if he makes his way to AEW so he can add even more stories to his career.
