LA Knight is proof that organic growth in WWE is still alive and kicking, considering how over he is right now. It helps that he worked extensively with John Cena last year and now Knight has disclosed his relationship with Cena beyond the ring.

LA Knight’s meteoric rise was supplemented by John Cena’s willingness to work with him for a few months back in 2023. They worked in a couple of Premium Live Events together and clearly developed a solid and respectful relationship during that time.

John Cena and LA Knight most notably defeated Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa at the Fastlane Premium Live Event last year. Cena also never failed to give the spotlight to Knight whenever possible.

While speaking to Chris Van Vliet of Insight, LA Knight shared insights into his work with John Cena and their backstage relationship. Knight revealed that Cena was easy to work with, emphasizing simplicity and clear communication.

“Man, you know what? That is one of the easiest guys to work with. Everything is simple. Everything is, there’s not any over complicated thought process. It’s just kinda like, ‘Hey, look, when we go out there we’re gonna do our thing. It’s gonna be this this this.’ ‘Cool. Yeah. Great. Wonderful.”

LA Knight also mentioned Cena’s friendly and approachable nature, highlighting an instance where Cena expressed a desire to meet Knight’s girlfriend at Fastlane, revealing Cena’s genuine and down-to-earth nature.

“But beyond that, super easy to talk to, super cool, super nice. My girlfriend was backstage at Fastlane and he was like… It wasn’t like she wanted to meet him, ‘Hey, can I meet…’ He was like, ‘Can I meet her?’ And I’m like, ‘Yes, absolutely.’ He was like thrilled that he just wanted to meet because he saw her pass by when she was going to the bathroom or whatever. So, stuff like that. So he’s just super nice and cool.”

LA Knight also accepted pay cut upon returning to WWE. Knight is scheduled to compete against Roman Reigns, AJ Styles, and Randy Orton for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event on January 27th. The outcome of the match and whether Knight will emerge victorious is something that fans continue to anticipate, so they’ll just have to wait and watch what happens.
