AEW has a few stars who are out of action with an injury, and some big names are on that list. Although he is out of action, Fenix is doing everything he can to get himself corrected so he can get back to work.

Fenix has been absent from the ring for three months, with his last match being the loss of the AEW International Championship to Orange Cassidy on an episode of Dynamite in October.

Prior to relinquishing the title, Fenix shared on social media that he was contending with an “old injury” that had been bothering him since he secured the championship from Jon Moxley in September. Despite the pain associated with the injury, Fenix emphasized his determination to defend the International title.

According to Dave Meltzer, Fenix’s ailment involves a troublesome back, a troublesome hip, or possibly both. This is not good news for the AEW roster at all.

In an update, Fenix did an interview with Denise Salcedo, where he said that he is actively engaged in his recovery process. Acknowledging this as perhaps his most severe injury to date, Fenix expresses optimism about returning to the squared circle in the near future.

We are working on the injury. It’s one of the worst, but I’m taking my time. I’m doing a good job with my recovery. I clear everything with the doctors. I’m following the doctor’s line. I’m doing my best and I think I think that soon I will be in the ring doing lucha libre, the thing that makes me so happy.”

We can only hope that Fenix is able to heal up and get back to the ring soon. He is one of the best pro wrestlers in the world when he’s on his A-Game. Only time will tell what is able to do next if he can stay healthy.

PAC is also reportedly on his way back to AEW, which may mean true Death Triangle reunion is possible. Keep checking back with us here at Ringside News for more.
