The Rock’s return to WWE Raw has ignited speculation about a potential match against Roman Reigns, and if this matchup indeed happens at WrestleMania, it raises questions about other storylines, such as Cody Rhodes’ narrative.

If Roman Reigns faces The Rock at WrestleMania, it could potentially overshadow other storylines, including Cody Rhodes’ ongoing storyline. Whether Cody Rhodes completes his story this year or if his match against Reigns is delayed until the following year will depend on WWE’s creative decisions.

Roman Reigns has held the Undisputed Universal Championship for over 1,125 days, marking the longest title reign since 1988. To surpass Hulk Hogan’s first title reign of 1,474 days, Reigns would need to hold the title until September. WWE might have plans for Reigns to achieve this milestone, which could influence the timing of his match with The Rock.

Kevin Nash, on the “Kliq This” podcast, discussed the top spots available for WrestleMania 40. He suggested that WWE might want Reigns to surpass Hogan’s title reign record, indicating that there might not be an immediate upside in having The Rock win the match.

“The bottom line is, I mean there’s four spots. I don’t see them taking the belt off Seth and I don’t see them taking the belt off of Roman. Don’t you think they want Roman to pass the Hogan streak? I mean, there’s no upside in having Dwayne go over. I think Dwayne would do the job much like Hogan did for Dwayne in Toronto.”

In addition to discussing WrestleMania plans, Nash was asked about his Mount Rushmore of managers. He named legendary managers such as Bobby Heenan, Jim Cornette, Paul Heyman, and included Freddie Blassie, a name that might be less familiar to younger fans but is still highly regarded in wrestling history.
