Tony Khan is very aware of some of the questions about WWE engaging with Warner Brothers Discovery. After all, WWE and WBD could really shake things up in the land of All Elite if they landed a deal.

AEW’s media rights are set for renewal in 2024, and Tony Khan openly discussed the longstanding positive relationship between Warner Brothers Discovery and AEW. AEW programming has been included in the Warner Brothers Discovery lineup since October 2019.

While speaking on Going Ringside with New4Jax, Tony Khan was asked about WWE and Warner Brothers Discovery speaking. He doesn’t seem too worried about the idea, because he sees a lot of opportunities.

“It’s part of sports. I think everybody discusses contracts and free agency and things of that nature. I think everybody is aware that everybody is going to be talking to everybody in media this coming year. There will be certainly a lot of opportunities. We’ve had a great history with Warner Brothers Discovery and continue to produce great ratings. We’ll be in a very good position next year.”

As the renewal for WWE Raw rights approaches, reports suggest that WWE has initiated discussions with Warner Brothers Discovery regarding the media rights for Raw. Then again, FX was also said to be a favorite, as was Amazon Prime for a time.

Tony Khan also made it clear during the interview that AEW maintains a relationship with WBD. We will have to see if they can continue that relationship later on.

WWE SmackDown and WWE NXT secured new homes, with SmackDown transitioning to USA Network and NXT relocating to CW Network in October 2024. As of this writing, RAW has not declared their new home in October 2024, but they will likely move off the USA Network, as that is the new home for SmackDown.
