Britt Baker has worked very hard to improve herself and become one of the best female wrestlers in AEW and she was pretty much the top star there for a long time. However, she was barely featured on AEW television last year and now Baker has revealed the reason why that was the case.

Britt Baker hasn’t been the AEW Women’s Champion since dropping the title to Thunder Rosa back in March 2022. She only got a handful of title opportunities since then and to make matters worse, Baker wasn’t even prominently featured for a long time.

Even Britt Baker previously admitted that she had taken backseat in the women’s division. After AEW All In 2023, the dentist was largely absent from AEW television for extended periods of time.

While speaking to DS Shin on Ring The Belle, Baker was asked if there was a reason for her diminished time on AEW television. It ultimately was due to the fact that fans simply wanted to see less of her.

“Yeah. I think with our very passionate fans, they’re very vocal with what they want, what they don’t want, what they like, what they don’t like. We listen. I listen. If they are telling me they want or less of something, okay, I hear you loud and clear. A lot of them said, ‘We want less Britt Baker.’ So, if that’s what they want, that’s what they’ll get. Let me take a step back, here are the rest of the women. Someone else take the ball and run with it and make the women’s division about you and you be the face of the women’s division. When no one else can do that, I’ll be there to pick up the pieces and do it all over again

Baker has not wrestled since the September 16 episode of AEW Collision where she lost to Kris Statlander in a match for the TBS Championship. We will have to wait and see when Baker will be back as a mainstay on AEW television again.
