MJF gives his all in the ring, and that dedication brought him to this current position in AEW. Now, as AEW World Heavyweight Champion, MJF has a huge match on the horizon, but his body could be working against him.

We are just a little over day away from AEW Worlds End, where the main event will see MJF defending his AEW World Championship against Samoa Joe. That match saw some serious complications when The Devil got involved.

As MJF heads into Nassau Coliseum, he is not doing so at 100%. On a recent episode of Dynamite, MJF lost the ROH World Tag Team Championship, leading many to wonder if AEW will take the World Title off him at Worlds End.

In an editorial to The Players’ Tribune, MJF was quite candid about his current condition. He is on painkillers for that big match, leading us all to wonder how much longer he can go without a break.

“I’m tired. I know that’s not what you’re supposed to say as a professional wrestler — especially not before a big world title defense in your hometown. I know I should take my vitamins, brother, order up an expensive coffee to the five-star hotel room I’m staying in (thanks, Tony), and end this article by cutting an ’80s good guy promo about the evil Samoa Joe. Let’s sell some Pay-Per-Views!!!!!!! But I don’t know, man. I’m just so, so, so tired. That’s the God’s honest truth. My hip is a mess. My arm won’t lift above my head. I’m on painkillers, which are not my thing. I can’t sleep.”

MJF has made no secret about the fact that his body has been through a lot of damage. He is wrestling on pure adrenaline on some occasions, as his love for pro wrestling helps bring him through those tough moments.

We will have to see what is in MJF’s future after AEW Worlds End. This could be quite a story to tell after everything is said and done.
