We’ve reported about absent faces from AEW’s past that have remained absent in recent memory, like Britt Baker. Just because someone is gone from television doesn’t mean they’ve exited the company.

Tony Chimel was a voice for AEW, but he hasn’t been seen for a bit. He is apparently still with the company, although he hasn’t made any public appearances.

Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that, despite his absence, Tony Chimel is actually still on the AEW payroll. He is still working with the company, although his role was not disclosed.

Tony Chimel is best known for his time in WWE, where he worked for many years. Chimel was known for his distinctive voice and announcing style. Fans gravitated to him in a big way, and they were happy to see him wind up in AEW.
