New Japan Pro Wrestling has quite a few talented stars on their roster who always know when to put on incredible matches every single time. One such name is David Finaly and he has now confirmed that his father Fit Finlay has spoken to him about joining WWE and that he doesn’t rule out exploring WWE opportunities in the future.

On January 4th at Wrestle Kingdom 18, David Finlay is set to compete in a three-way match alongside Will Ospreay and Jon Moxley to determine the inaugural IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion.

The buildup to this match unfolded at NJPW Power Struggle when Ospreay intended to challenge Moxley for the IWGP U.S. (U.K.) Heavyweight Title. However, Finlay inserted himself into the scenario by smashing both titles with a mallet, setting the stage for the upcoming championship clash.

While speaking on Cultaholic’s Desert Island Graps podcast, David Finlay was asked if there have ever been any talks between him and WWE. Finlay confirmed that his father Fit Finlay has talked to him about joining WWE someday. David Finlay noted that he would entertain the option in the future once he is done with Japan.

I mean, my only (WWE) contact is my dad, my only contact needs to be my dad so, on one hand, it’s never been talked about officially but on the other hand, about every other time I go over for dinner, it gets talked about because he’s like, ‘Yeah, you can come work with me’ so it’s like, mhm, when I’ve accomplished all I need to accomplish in Japan, maybe I’ll entertain the option but for right now, I got a IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship to win and make world-famous.

David Finlay’s brother Brogan Finlay already signed with NXT recently. Both David and Brogan Finlay were working out at T.J. Wilson and Natalya’s gym in Florida. Only time will tell whether David Finlay will also make his way to WWE.
