WWE is blazing a trail out of 2023, and that calls for big night to kick off 2024. The New Year’s Revolution branding is coming back for the January 5th SmackDown, and now we have a title match to look forward to.

On the December 22nd episode of WWE SmackDown, AJ Styles, LA Knight, and Randy Orton all expressed their desire to compete against Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Universal Title at the Royal Rumble event.

The Tribal Chief can only have one challenger on January 27th, and a match was booked for next week to determine a #1 contender. They will do so with a triple threat match.

SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis subsequently declared that Orton, Styles, and Knight would face each other at SmackDown: New Year’s Revolution on January 5th. The winner of that match will then contend for the championship against Roman Reigns at WWE Royal Rumble.
