Mace and Mansoor, the two members of Maximum Male Models’ stable, had a lot of potential in the company. Fans wanted to see them booked properly, but that never happened. They would end up getting released and now Mace made it clear he wasn’t surprised by his release.

During the company’s latest slew of releases back in September, Mace and Mansoor were handed their release. This came as a shock for many fans who wanted to see them succeed in WWE.

While speaking to Denise Salcedo on Instinct Culture, Mace claimed he was not surprised by his release. The former WWE Superstar made it clear he wasn’t really shocked by his firing whatsoever.

When it came down to the end, it’s not like I was super surprised. I had heard that, you know, releases were happening. And when my time came I actually missed the call because I was going through a dead zone, picking up my youngest daughter from school. There’s like a bad cell phone tower area. And when I pulled in at home, I had gotten a message from the guy who was doing the firings and I was like, ‘Oh, there it is.’

And I had already heard from Mansoor that he had gotten released. So, I wasn’t surprised, but at the same time, something has ended for me. Whether it be football or WWE, it’s instantly become, ‘All right, next step. How do we move forward? I gotta keep this ship going.’ So, it became very exciting and fun and just diving right into it. It’s been fun.”

It was officially announced recently that Mace and Mansoor will be appearing for one of their first post-WWE pro wrestling events, as they will be making their GCW debut at Effy’s Big Gay Brunch on January 27, 2024. They are now simply known as MxM – somewhat minimalistic but effective nonetheless.

Both Mace and Mansoor had 90-day non-compete clauses and became free agents after December 20th. Only time will tell whether they will eventually make their way back to WWE, as the company may find value in them in the future.
