In January last year, MLW filed a lawsuit against WWE, accusing them of engaging in anti-competitive practices and interfering with MLW’s business. MLW claimed that WWE used its influence to prevent MLW from securing a television deal with a major network, impeding their growth and violating antitrust laws. the lawsuit has been settled and now MLW’s reaction to the resolution has been unveiled.

It was alleged in the lawsuit that Triple H contacted Madison Square Garden to encourage them to cancel an event hosted by New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Ring of Honor a few years ago.

WWE previously sought to have the lawsuit dismissed, as they argued that MLW did not present a valid claim. However, the court ruled against WWE’s motion, allowing MLW’s lawsuit to proceed. MLW, for their part, requested 22 years of data from WWE as part of their lawsuit.

Naturally, many felt there was simply no end in sight for the lawsuit. Thankfully, WWE and MLW are in the process of finalizing settlement in the suit. According to a report by PWInsider, MLW talent are extremely happy that the lawsuit has finally come to an end so that the company can focus on the future as well as move forward with finding a new TV deal.

While no one will comment on record (yet), there is a lot of happiness among talents in MLW upon hearing about the WWE settlement, hoping that it means the company can move forward with finding a new TV deal and that those working for the company can focus on the future as opposed to legalities.

Court Bauer, perhaps knowing the settlement was coming, mentioned to his locker room this past Thursday in NYC that some announcements were coming.  In the same meeting, Court Bauer stated the promotion would be running more often in 2024 and would be returning to new and old markets.  There’s been talk of late of more events in Florida for 2024.  The promotion had been running about once a month for most of 2023.”

We will have to wait and see what MLW has planned for the company in general as well as its talent, as the promotion has seen some departures as of late. Fans hope 2024 will be a good year for the pro wrestling company.
