Cora Jade was absent from WWE television after the August 25, 2023, episode of NXT, where she squared off against Dana Brooke in a Kendo Stick match. After several months of absence, Jade finally returned on NXT Deadline. She even had a wholesome reunion with CM Punk – who gave her some great advice.
CM Punk made a surprise entrance at WWE NXT Deadline on Saturday night, where he opened the show and had a brief segment with WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels in order to get the crowd hyped for the rest of the show.
Later during the night, Cora Jade returned and attacked Lyra Valkyria, making her intentions clear. In case you didn’t know, CM Punk and Cora Jade have a long history, which is why fans were so happy that they finally reunited backstage at NXT Deadline. Punk stated that he was proud of Jade and that she should be proud of herself, as the two embraced.
”Look at me, legit. I’m proud of you. You should be proud of yourself. Often, I feel like I need to be stepping on the gas and I don’t stop the smell the roses, so you should do that. This is your house now, you should be very proud of yourself and April’s[AJ Lee] very proud of you too.”
Fans certainly loved this wholesome interaction between Cora Jade and CM Punk after NXT Deadline. We will have to wait and see how WWE will continue to book Cora Jade now that she has finally returned.
