Kenny Omega, widely regarded as one of the top professional wrestlers in the world today, has not only made a mark in pro wrestling but is a well-known figure in the world of Anime and video games now. That said, he isn’t in the Continental Classic tournament and now Bryan Danielson has revealed an interesting tidbit about Omega’s absence from the tournament.

The Continental Classic tournament is already underway, as quite a few matches have already taken place in the past couple of weeks. Jon Moxley, Swerve Strickland and Bryan Danielson have been performing well in the tournament so far, among others.

That said, fans were shocked that Kenn Omega wasn’t in the tournament. While speaking with Mail Sport’s Alex McCarthy, Bryan Danielson was asked about Kenny Omega’s absence from the tournament. Danielson noted that Omega was approached for the tournament, but he doesn’t know why Omega isn’t in it.

“I really wanted Kenny Omega in it and I don’t know. People think I do a lot more than I do. I don’t know what happened or why he’s not in the tournament. I know it was at least brought up to him and I don’t know if he didn’t want to do it or I know that he and Chris Jericho are the number one contenders for the Tag Team Championship. So maybe that’s why. Sometimes, with American TV wrestling, you don’t want to confuse stories, and maybe that’s why. But I love the field that we have, [because] we have so many great, hard-hitting wrestlers. The matches have been really, really good so far in the Continental Classic.”

Kenny Omega is set to do battle with Ethan Page on this week’s episode of AEW Collision. We will have to wait and see how The Best Bout Machine will continue to get booked in the coming weeks.
