The Rock had quite a career in pro wrestling, and he has used his position in Hollywood to tell a few WWE stories, like the Knight Family in Fighting With My Family, and his own tale through Young Rock. Now, his production company is going to tell the story of WCW.

Deadline wrote a report about how Dwayne Johnson and Dany Garcia’s Seven Bucks Productions have appointed Scott Landsman, a former senior Sony TV comedy executive, as the Head of Television. Additionally, Melissa Fried from Verve has joined the team as the VP of Film Development & Production.

At the tail end of that article, it was also noted that The Rock’s company is involved in another very interesting. Seven Bucks Productions is working on a documentary series about the demise of WCW.

Seven Bucks has more than 60 film and television projects and counting in active development. Among the company’s upcoming titles are Red One, greenlit by Amazon, directed by Emmy nominee Jake Kasdan and starring Dwayne Johnson, Chris Evans, J.K. Simmons, and Lucy Liu; Kate Warne, also for Amazon, an action-packed biopic starring Emily Blunt as the first female Pinkerton agent; Moana, a live-action remake of the animated feature, directed by Thomas Kail from a script by Jared Bush and Dana Ledoux Miller; new installments in the Fast and Furious and Jumanji franchises; and, in partnership with Vice Studios, a docuseries investigating the mysterious demise of World Championship Wrestling (WCW), once the biggest wrestling company in America.

We will have to see what happens in this situation, because WCW had quite a story. There are also several ways that their story can be told, depending on who they call to give their recollection about how things went down.

The Rock may not be getting in the ring anymore, but he is still involved in the pro wrestling world. This new WCW project only further proves that face.
