AEW Full Gear Surprise Signing List Narrows Further as Another Name is Ruled Out

Tony Khan is going to introduce a new member of the AEW roster at Full Gear. This will be a big deal, and AEW promised that this is someone who the fans and roster respect in a big way. Now, we have a bit more clarification about what to expect.

We previously reported that there are couple obvious names who could show up. Mercedes Mone’s name has entered the conversation in a big way, and there are a lot of questions about that right now.

Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that rumors have swirled around the talent that has been teased by Tony Khan as potentially appearing at Full Gear. This includes a lot of speculation.

At this point, it was noted that Mercedes Mone’s name is the most popular choice going around the locker room. The two sides were working toward a deal months ago, but it didn’t come to pass just yet. It appears that her name is not the one that they will announce at Full Gear, either.

AEW talent themselves were speculating this week between a number of talent, including Mercedes Mone. Though we’ve heard as far back as August that there were working plans for the two sides to work together, the plan isn’t to announce her this weekend at AEW Full Gear, if people in the company are to be believed. Several have stated that when asked, it was indicated that the Full Gear announcement isn’t Mercedes.

It was also noted that, “While there were some rumblings within wrestling that Mercedes could appear in some capacity at AEW Grand Slam, that didn’t end up happening, either. As we’re told, that wasn’t in the plans at any point realistically.”

Mercedes Mone hasn’t been seen on television since appearing at AEW All In, and for good reason. She was injured, and was actually in a walking boot at Wembley Stadium. That is also why she remained seated.

We will have to see what happens at AEW Full Gear. At this point, it would be a huge surprise to see the former Sasha Banks finally become All Elite.
