John Cena left Saudi Arabia’s Crown Jewel as the loser against Solo Sikoa. Now, there is even more reason to believe that he is hanging up his jorts for good.

There is a notable pattern that occurs each time John Cena returns to WWE television, focusing on elevating younger talent. He demonstrated this by putting over Roman Reigns at SummerSlam 2021, Austin Theory at WrestleMania 39 earlier this year, and Solo Sikoa at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia on Saturday.

Solo Sikoa saw the most significant match in his relatively short WWE career when he had his first singles match at a Pay-Per-View and defeated the former WWE Champion using several Samoan spikes. This marked the end of John Cena’s current run with WWE, as he only returned due to the SAG-AFTRA Strike.

John Cena has not secured a victory in a singles match at a Pay-Per-View since 2018 when he defeated Triple H at the Greatest Royal Rumble. His movie commitments are on hold until the actor’s strike concludes.

After the event, John Cena shared a photo of David Beckham taken during Beckham’s last soccer match, suggesting that Cena may have competed in his final match. Cena has previously acknowledged that his in-ring career is winding down.

John Cena also took to Instagram to post a photo of Babe Ruth’s last public appearance in 1948 during Yankee Stadium’s 25th-anniversary season, further hinting at his approaching retirement. This certainly added a lot more fuel to the fiery rumors that he is retiring from pro wrestling.

We will have to see what happens next with John Cena. There are certainly a lot of interesting stories going around, but we absolutely know that Hollywood will get him back the moment the strike is over. He is obviously preparing for that as well.
