Bryan Danielson is out of action once again, and this was not a good time for that to happen. The former WWE Champion broke his orbital bone, and he required surgery, but it turns out that Danielson didn’t really injure himself when everyone thought it actually went down.

Video evidence emerged from AEW Dynamite showing that Bryan Danielson wasn’t really injured during that match. There were a lot of questions, but it appears that we now know when he was actually hurt.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer explained that Bryan Danielson actually walked into AEW Dynamite last week with his injury. Then they set everything up to make it appear that he was injured, so they could take him out of the match on schedule.

“Yeah, I guess he went in with a black eye. They didn’t know how serious he was, because obviously, he worked on it. They shot the angle to take him out during the match. So, the injury took place when they bonked heads. It was basically a fluke. It wasn’t one of those things where he got hit too hard or anything. Andrade was doing a spinning elbow, and Danielson’s head was in one place and they bonked heads, and that happens in fights and things like that fairly often.”

It was reported that after that Andrade match, the thought was that Bryan Danielson will need surgery. Bryan Alvarez noted on the program that “there’s a chance that he won’t need surgery,” because the belief is that Danielson has actually not had surgery over this situation yet.

A lot of things are going on backstage in AEW right now, and it appears that information is also a bit harder to get out of the company than some might have thought. Bryan Danielson is out of action, but there are also a lot of details that didn’t seem to be included with the company’s original injury report.
