WWE Superstars give their bodies to fans for their entertainment, and the damage they put on their bodies is only amplified later on in life. Now, we have a sad update on Dennis Knight, a man who entertained millions of fans during his day.

Dennis Knight, who is a former WWE Tag Team Champion, recently participated in a Q&A session on AdFreeShows.com. Over the years, wrestling fans have come to recognize Knight by his ring names, such as Phineus Godwin and Mideon during his tenure in WWE. Additionally, he had a notable stint in WCW under the name Tex Slazenger.

Dennis Knight’s journey in the world of professional wrestling took shape during his WWE career, where he portrayed Phineus Godwin. As one half of the Godwinns, a tag team that included his partner Henry Godwinn, they won the WWE Tag Team Championship in the mid-1990s. After this partnership, Knight adopted the persona of Mideon, becoming a part of The Undertaker’s dark faction known as The Ministry of Darkness.

In addition to his wrestling career, Dennis Knight has pursued a culinary path, working as a chef for an extended period. However, Knight revealed that he has been forced to reduce his involvement in culinary activities due to a recent foot injury. This injury was severe enough to require the partial amputation of his foot, which has understandably impacted his professional life.

“I had to take a break (from being a chef). I got half my foot cut off about six months ago. There’s these things called speed racks. They’re like big squares, and they have shelves, and you wheel the food around. There could be hundreds and hundreds of pounds when they’re fully loaded. One of them fell off of a broken back deck and landed on my foot and because of the fractures in my spine, I can’t, and this is crazy, I can’t feel from my knees down.”

“So like, when I was cooking a lot, I wore a hole in the bottom of my big toe, like, to the bone, and it got infected, and yeah, I didn’t even feel it. This thing fell on my foot, and it was like, oh, it just felt kind of like a little swollen, but that was it, but I really couldn’t feel anything. So then I go home and I take my shoe off and I put my sock off and two of my toes are just hanging off there and one of them was in the sock and I didn’t know. This was like an hour later. So I went right to the hospital. I was there for like five days getting antibiotics and then they took off, yeah, I have no toes on my right foot. I have size 15 foot, but my right foot is like an 11 now. It’s just like where all your toes start. They just clipped them off so it’s like a big slipper. Yeah, and I can’t feel it at all, which is weird. I started working and then I was going to the gym a lot and I wore a hole on the bottom of my foot without knowing it. Like, I got sore and when that happens, I had to stop and make sure because it causes an infection.”

We will keep our eyes peeled for any update on Dennis Knight’s condition. This may not be the update that we wanted to hear, but it seems that Knight is able to speak about the tribulations he’s been through, and he has a positive enough outlook on everything.

Only time will tell if the Godwins ever make it to the WWE Hall of Fame, after all they did have a pretty historic encounter with Triple H as a young Game took on Henry Godwin. For more on this story, and so many more, please keep it tuned with us here at Ringside News.
