WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler Reveals Lingering Effects on His Voice After Stroke

WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler will forever be regarded as one of the most significant names in pro wrestling. His health continues to be a topic of discussion and now he has provided an update on his health.

Jerry Lawler’s health challenges have been widely recognized by fans in recent times, including a life-threatening heart attack in 2012 during a Monday Night RAW broadcast, with Michael Cole stepping in to fill his role during his absence.

As previously reported, the beloved pro wrestling legend was rushed to the hospital after suffering a stroke back in February. In fact, Jerry Lawler experienced paralysis right before he suffered the stroke.

Lawler also underwent surgery after being transported to the hospital and was said to make full recovery soon enough. That said, he underwent another surgery right after that as well.

While speaking with Sportskeeda Wrestling Senior Editor Bill Apter, Lawler talked about his health and his ongoing recovery. Lawler noted that he goes to rehab three times a week and that his voice is no longer what it used to be.

“I’ve had a bunch of different things and I’m still in rehab three times a week, and probably the main thing that’s drawing me back now, that you can probably tell as you hear me talk, my voice is not the same as it was beforehand. It’s slowly coming back, but it needed to come back a little more before I could make sense with my speech and vocabulary.” 

Jerry Lawler also made his appearance at Memphis Tigers Athletics event. Regardless, we hope he continues to recover at a good pace and eventually makes a full recovery so he can continue to do what he loves the most.
