WWE Hall of Famer ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin remains one of the biggest and most influential names in pro wrestling history, especially for those who watched his rise during the Attitude Era. This includes NFL star Travis Kelce, who was once fined for hitting the Stone Cold Stunner.

Travis Kelce currently dominates the news as he dates world-renowned singer Taylor Swift. In case you didn’t know, Travis Kelce scored 72 touchdowns in his NFL career, which meant many celebrations to boot.

While speaking on his New Heights podcast with his brother Jason Kelce, Travis Kelce recalled a celebration against the Oakland Raiders in 2018, where he ended up hitting the Stone Cold Stunner on Anthony Sherman. This resulted in Travis Kelce paying a fine for his actions.

I Stone Cold Stunnered Anthony Sherman in the endzone one time. I scored a touchdown against the Raiders. He came over like, ‘Yeah, Trav!’ [Holds arms up]. He was just exposed and I was like, [Stunner motion]. Stunner, yeah. He was all for it. You already know, the biggest thing, if you’re going to pull off a Stunner, you have to act like you got electrocuted, you’re dead. You gotta sell it. That’s half of the Stunner, you have to sell it. I got fined for it. I kicked him, it’s like violence. It’s just a wrestling move. We’re not promoting violence, we’re promoting Stone Cold Steve Austin.”

Steve Austin also previously revealed why he won’t return to WWE for full-time gig. Regardless, it is certainly good to see just how influential the Texas Rattlesnake remains even now.
