AEW Dynamite Results Coverage, Reactions & Highlights For October 18, 2023

AEW Dynamite Results (10/18/2023):

The opening package for the show airs.

Penta El Zero Miedo vs. Jay White

Penta El Zero Miedo’s music plays and he walks out to the ring. Jay White’s theme song plays and he walks out with the rest of Bullet Club Gold.

Penta dives onto Bullet Club Gold. Penta hits Jay with the slingblade. He sends Jay into the ring. He hits the stomp to start the match. Cover! 1…..2…..kick out. Penta with a backstabber. Cover! 1…..2…..kick out.

Colten distracts Penta by sweeping his leg. Jay kicks Penta in the face and follows it with a DDT. Cover! 1…..2….kick out. Jay attacks Penta in the corner. Cover! 1…..2…..kick out. Jay with the suplex. Cover! 1……2……kick out. Penta comes back with a superkick. Jay knocks Penta out of the ring.

Jay slams Penta on the apron. Cover! 1……2……kick out. Jay stomps Penta and ties his mask in the rope. The referee unties it. Jay with a suplex in the corner. Cover! 1…..2….kick out.

*Commercial break*

Jay chops Penta. He goes for a suplex but Penta stops it and hits a slingblade. He does it again. Jay rolls out of the ring and Penta dives onto him. Penta sends him into the ring. Both men exchange strikes. Jay with a basement dropkick. Penta comes back and plants Jay. Cover! 1……2…..kick out.

Penta goes for fear factor but White hits the Urinagi. He then hits the brainbuster. Cover! 1……2……kick out. Jay with the dragon screw and he follows it with the sleeper suplex. Jay goes for the blade runner but Penta hits the made in Japan. Cover! 1……2……kick out.

The Gunns distract the referee and Juice Robinson hits Penta with the left hand of God and Jay hits the blade runner for the win.

Winner: Jay White

Jay gets on the mic and says MJF sucks. He asks where is MJF but he is here because he is a real World Champion. He says he is still waiting for MJF’s answer. He says MJF can’t find anyone to team with him. He says until MJF can find someone to team with him, he will lead by example.

Juice says tonight he is going to win the Dynamite Dozen Battle Royale. He says after he wins the right to face MJF, he will knock him out and pawn his ring.

Renee interviews MJF who says he could have run out to confront Jay but he is not a dumb good guy. He says he is doing commentary in the main event. He promises to get back his title. He says he prays that Juice wins tonight because when they face next week, there will be blood.

The Acclaimed interrupt. Max offers to be his partner. MJF says no. Max says he will enter the Dynamite Dozen Battle Royale and take the title from MJF. MJF walks away. Billy Gunn says MJF is such a scumbag and Max says he is his scumbag.

*Commercial break*

World Title Eliminator Match: Hikaru Shida vs. Emi Sakura

Emi Sakura’s music plays and she comes down to the ring. Hikaru Shida’s music plays next and she comes out to the ring.

Sakura attacks her from behind. The match begins and both women exchange strikes. Sakura chops Shida in the corner. Sakura goes for the dropkick but Shida catches her with the knee strike. Shida goes for the dropkick and misses. Sakura kicks her in the face.

*Commercial break*

Emi knocks Shida out of the ring. Shida comes back with a hurricanrana. Shida sends her into the ring and hits a missile dropkick. Cover! 1…..2……kick out. Sakura hits the tiger driver. Cover! 1…..2….kick out.

Sakura goes for a moonsault and misses. Shida hits her with the katana. Cover! 1…..kick out. Sakura with the clothesline. Cover! 1……2……kick out. Shida comes back with a backbreaker.

Shida hits the falcon arrow. Cover! 1…..2……kick out. Shida hits her with the katana for the win.

Winner: Hikaru Shida

Renee interviews Adam Copeland who says things have not gone smoothly for him and he’s still confused. He says the whole idea of coming to AEW was to team with Christian Cage and he was on board with it at first until Christian became distanced.

He says he has thought about their relationship. He says he has known Christian since 6th grade. He narrates how they bonded over their love for wrestling. He narrates how they got into the wrestling business. He says he got the dream gig in wrestling and he was promoting Christian but it has always been Edge and Christian but he didn’t want that.

He says this is all he ever wanted to do. He says he opened doors for Christian and he can’t imagine why he’s behaving this way. He says he is riding high right now. He says he knows Christian is going to come crashing down at some point. He says he is not going to fight him and he doesn’t want his TNT Championship. He says he knows Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne will leave him high and dry and when that happens, he will pick Christian up.

Wardlow vs. Ryan Nemeth

Wardlow’s music plays and he walks to the ring. Ryan is in the ring.

Ryan attacks Wardlow but it has no effect and Wardlow powerbombs him. The referee stops the match.

Winner: Wardlow

Tony Schiavone interviews Wardlow who shows his wristband with MJF’s name on it. He then shoves Tony on his way out of the ring.

Renee interviews Kenny Omega who says it has been a tough year for him but Kyle has done a wonderful by reminding him who he is. He says you have to take out Omega to prove you’re the best. He says he will take out Kyle and then the Don Callis family before going after the World Title.

MJF interrupts and says he has always been a fan of Omega. They both shake hands and MJF whispers 13 days in Omega’s ears before he walks away.

*Commercial break*

A video package plays of Mike playing the bongos for Strong. Cole offers him coffee and he spits it out. Strong says he hates hot coffee. Cole says he is out of here and Strong apologizes. Strong says Cole makes some good PB&J sandwiches. Cole makes PB&J sandwiches for them.

Strong takes one bit and spits it out. He says he hates crust. Cole says he has done everything he asked and he needs surgery. He then says he is done with this and walks away. Strong says he has to be nice to MJF to get Cole back.

Tony Schiavone introduces Don Callis. Don Callis’ music plays and he comes down to the ring with Powerhouse Hobbs and Takeshita. Tony says he saw a sign that says Don Callis is worse than Dallas.

Don says last week they made history because Jericho has never been manhandled like he was last week. He says Feb 22, 1998, was supposed to be the greatest night of his life. He says he had the chance to meet Jericho and he walked past him and his grandma. He says he held on to that frustration. He says he swore he was going to hurt him.

Hobbs says Jericho was lifeless and so he hits spinebuster after spinebuster. Don says Hobbs was told to bottle up his anger but now his new family tells him to be what he is and he is a killing machine. He says they are going to release Hobbs on the AEW roster. He says they have been undefeated for four months except for one match where he had to get a scab worker like Kyle Fletcher who let them down.

Kyle comes down to the ring and gets in the face of Don. Kyle says as far as he can recall he did this match as a favor because Don begged him to. He says he may have been the weak link that night but he has Omega one on one tonight and he is going to prove that he does not need anyone’s help to beat him. Don says if Kyle can beat Omega tonight, they have an opportunity to discuss.

Kyle Fletcher vs. Kenny Omega

Kenny Omega’s music plays and he walks to the ring.

The match starts and Fletcher attacks Omega. Omega comes back and chops Fletcher. Fletcher knocks down Omega. Omega with a suplex. Fletcher rolls out of the ring. Omega dives onto him. Omega sends him into the ring.

Kyle dropkicks Omega knocking him off the apron. Fletcher sends Omega into the crowd. Fletcher drags Omega into the ring. Omega hits a hurricanrana on Fletcher sending him out of the ring. Fletcher drags Omega out of the ring. Both men exchange strikes. Fletcher dropkicks Omega sending him into the barricade.

*Commercial break*

Omega dives onto Fletcher. Omega sends him into the ring. He then hits a missile dropkick on Fletcher. Cover! 1……2…..kick out. Omega with a neckbreaker. Fletcher with a half-and-half suplex. Fletcher attacks him in the corner and hits a brainbuster. Cover! 1…..2….kick out.

Fletcher sends Omega into the turnbuckle. He then follows it with a Michinoku driver. Cover! 1……2…..kick out. Fletcher with a dropkick to Omega. Omega comes back with a V Trigger and a reverse hurricanrana. Omega hits the powerbomb and a V Trigger. Cover! 1…..2…..kick out.

Omega hits another V Trigger. He goes for the one-winged angel but Fletcher locks in a dragon Sleeper. Omega rolls through. Omega with a snap dragon suplex. He then hits a V Trigger and follows it with a one-winged angel for the win.

Winner: Kenny Omega

Lance Archer vs. Barrett Brown

Lance Archer’s music plays and he comes out kicking his opponent to the ring. Archer sends him into the ring and suplexes him. He attacks him in the corner. Archer hits the Everybody Dies for the win.

Winner: Lance Archer

Swerve and Prince Nana are at a graffiti park. Nana says now Swerve gets to release his own music video. Swerve says he is not excited because he should be TNT Champion but he is not because of Hangman Page. He says now it is personal between them. He says Page doesn’t want to go to war with him. He says it is not only Page who will pay for his actions.

Tony Schiavone introduces Sting. Sting’s music plays and he walks to the ring. Sting says he wants to reflect a little bit. He says he traveled with a lot of legends and they would look back at guys like Dusty Rhodes and Hulk Hogan. He then says one of the guys he wants to credit is Ric Flair and thanks him for everything.

He says he is here all these years later and he understands why these legends hung on to the business. He says he knows what some of the fans are thinking. He says his retirement in 2015 didn’t sit right with him. He says it brings him to the word retirement again. He says he started in AEW at Revolution 2021 and his last match will be at Revolution 2024. He says the only thing for sure about Sting is that his retirement in 2024 is for sure.

RJ City is backstage and he says tonight Toni debuts her next blockbuster. Toni shows up and asks to play the film. Her new film plays.

Jim Ross sits down with Nick Wayne and his mom. Wayne’s mom says she was shocked at what Wayne did and she can’t make sense of it. She says Darby has been like a brother to him. She says this is out of character for him. She says Christian has said a lot of things to her and her husband.

Wayne asks her to shut up. He says it was always about Darby. He says it is time for him to prove himself. He says this is him and he is under a better father figure than his father. Christian walks in and asks if he is ready to come home. Nick goes with him. His mother tries to stop him.

Nick says she is a terrible mother. She slaps him. Nick tells her she is dead to him and leaves. There is a sound heard outside the door. Darby attacks Christian and Wayne. They brawl to the entrance ramp. Luchasaurus attacks Darby. Sting attacks Christian and Luchasaurus. Sting locks in the scorpion death lock on Christian. Luchasaurus pulls him to safety and they walk away.

Renee interviews Best Friends and Hook. Statlander says she has proven the TBS Title is about great professional wrestling and she wants to offer a title shot to Willow Nightingale. Orange says he didn’t fully understand how much he cared about the title and he says he is going to defend it.

Dynamite Dozen Battle Royale

Dustin Rhodes’ music plays and he walks to the ring.

*Commercial break*

Juice Robinson’s music plays and he comes out with The Gunns. The Acclaimed’s music plays and they come down to the ring. MJF’s theme song plays and he comes out to the commentary booth.

The match begins and a brawl breaks out. Johnny TV eliminates Matt Sydal. Jeff Hardy knocks down Daniel Garcia and Matt Menard. Matt Hardy and Dustin Rhodes eliminate Johnny TV. Matt Hardy goes for a dive but Hager catches him and eliminates him. MJF walks down to the ring. He offers Dustin money to eliminate Juice. Dustin attacks Juice in the corner.

*Commercial break*

Garcia and Menard eliminate Komander. Dustin uppercuts Daddy Magic. He hits the Canadian destroyer on Garcia. Hager clothesline Trent and Dustin. Trent eliminates Hager. Menard and Trent exchange strikes on the apron. Garcia saves Menard who then eliminates Trent.

Garcia eliminates Jeff Hardy. He goes to dance but Menard stops him and they argue. They attack Dustin Rhodes. Garcia accidentally hits Menard and Dustin eliminates him. Garcia eliminates Dustin. Garcia is eliminated by Max Caster. Caster battles with Juice who is on the apron.

Juice tries to suplex Caster outside the ring. He drags him to the apron and both men exchange strikes. Juice gauges the eyes of Caster. Juice is thrown back in the ring and Caster hits the mic drop. Jay White attacks MJF from behind. MJF and Jay White brawl at the top of the stage. MJF takes his World Title belt back but White low blows him. Juice puts on his ring and hits Caster with the left hand of God. He then eliminates Caster to win the match.

Winner: Juice Robinson
