Jack Perry was involved in backstage skirmish with CM Punk at AEW All In London. That little confrontation included Punk allegedly sucker punching Perry, and Jungle Boy was indefinitely suspended. Of course, CM Punk was fired from the company. Now we have an update on the situation.

Jack Perry has been silent since his AEW hiatus started. He left television after finishing up a storyline with Hook where he was a heel. It’s anyone’s guess what kind of reception he will receive upon his return.

According to Mike Johnson on PW Insider Elite audio, Jack Perry’s indefinite suspension status has quietly changed. The belief is that he is no longer suspended, but they are waiting for the right time to bring him back.

“After speaking to some people, the belief of those who I have spoken to is that he is no longer on an indefinite suspension, but the company is in no rush to bring him back. The belief among the people I have spoken to is that the longer he is away, the longer it makes distance between himself and that incident with CM Punk. He had also just wrapped up that angle with Hook, so there is no rush to bring him back.”

CM Punk had told Jack Perry not to use real glass in an angle on Collision several weeks prior to All In London. After Perry and Hook used real glass in a windshield spot during the All In Zero-Hour show, Perry looked at the camera and said that it’s real glass, so “cry me a river.” That was not received too well by CM Punk.

The backstage altercation between CM Punk and Jack Perry resulted in only one person losing their job. It appears that Jack Perry will be back, but AEW is in no rush to make that happen. After all, pro wrestling fans really never forget, so he will undoubtably return to a few “CM Punk” chants.
