Carmelo Hayes Breaks Silence After NXT Title Loss at No Mercy

Carmelo Hayes eventually defeated Bron Breakker earlier this year to become the NXT Champion. He would then go on to defend his title successfully and has continued to become a major draw for the brand. However, his run came to an end at No Mercy this week and now he has broken his silence regarding the matter.

In one of the most highly anticipated matches in recent memory, Carmelo Hayes put his NXT Championship on the line against Ilja Dragunov. The match had a ton of action and near falls from start to finish.

When all was said and done, it was Ilja Dragunov who defeated Carmelo Hayes in order to become the new champion. Carmelo Hayes took to Twitter and commented on his shocking loss, making it clear he had his head held up in defeat.

Carmelo Hayes had a terrific run as the NXT Champion and now it remains to be seen what’s next for him. Perhaps Shawn Michaels will feel Hayes is ready for the main roster, unlike in the past.
