WWE and AEW are in the same business, and that can call for the possibility that they want the same talent. It appears that might be the case for Mariah May.

We previously reported that Mariah May is leaving Japan, and she may go to AEW. WWE is also apparently interested, and she has a few doors open for her. She tried out for WWE in 2021, but they did not sign her.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Mariah May is likely heading to WWE or AEW. At this point, it appears that she has left Japan’s STARDOM promotion.

“I know that there was talk of AEW with her, but I haven’t heard of any confirmation of that from anyone.”

“I think I said that Saturday was her last match, it’s actually this coming Saturday which is the pay-per-view with the finals of the Five-Star Grand Prix.”

“So that is her last match with STARDOM. She is leaving, she’s going back to England, and she may come back. It’s not for sure she’s not coming back.”

“She told the company that she’s not going to WWE or AEW and that the door is open for her to come back if she wants to.”

“So that’s the status, I think a lot of people thought she was going to AEW for sure, and she may be, but it doesn’t appear to be for sure because she left the door open for STARDOM, but Saturday is her last day with STARDOM, this coming Saturday on their Five Star Grand Prix finals, which she’s not in by the way.”

AEW is still looking to build up their women’s division, and it appears that Mariah May could be a big player for Tony Khan’s company. That is all up to her at this point, because her career is certainly at a crossroads.

There are a lot of exciting possibilities in the pro wrestling world, especially when free agency is the topic of conversation. Only time will tell if AEW or WWE signs Mariah May to a deal, but this could be an amazing opportunity for her.

What’s your take on Mariah May going to AEW or WWE? Which should she pick if they are both giving her offers? Sound off in the comments to let us know what you think!
