AEW has a lot of plans for the future, including a pay-per-view on October 1st in Seattle. WrestleDream will be here for fans before they know it, and that will be quite an event for fans. That being said, one match, that hasn’t even been officially booked on television yet, may have to change.

AEW kept the show going in Arthur Ashe Stadium as they filmed Rampage. You can get the whole Rampage spoilers here, or just know that the Righteous won the four-way tag team match to become #1 contenders for the ROH Tag Team Titles.

That sets up MJF and Adam Cole versus The Righteous at the Seattle pay-per-view. During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer kind of dragged this match for existing. He also noted that the whole thing might need to be changed due to Adam Cole’s injury.

“I cannot even begin to understand this. The Seattle pay-per-view, Max and Adam Cole are wrestling the Righteous. You know, we’re talking about who the World Title will be defended against, and now we have a tag team match.”

Bryan Alvarez then noted that “we don’t know how bad Cole’s ankle is, he may not be able to wrestle at that show, we may get a singles match one way or another.” Dave Meltzer then replied, “that’s true.”

Adam Cole suffered an injury as he walked out on the ramp during AEW Dynamite Grand Slam. He wasn’t even in a match, but he had to be ringside for MJF’s AEW World Title defense against Samoa Joe, a finish that Cole was involved in.

Although Adam Cole gutted it out and was still a part of the main event match, it’s unknown how they changed things on the fly due to his injury. That being said, Cole was taken to the hospital later that night, and he later left on crutches. We are still waiting on an official diagnosis on his condition.

Hopefully, AEW doesn’t have to change their WrestleDream pay-per-view. That being said, the card is always subject to change in pro wrestling.
