Jake Hager was Jack Swagger in WWE, but he has been booked strong in AEW since his arrival. Hager has been a part of AEW television since the very first episode of Dynamite, but he also has a legitimate MMA track record. However, it appears Hager has announced his retirement from the world of MMA for good.

Jake Hager has a positive record of 3-0-1 in MMA, where he competed at Bellator. Hager has not had a fight since Bellator 250 in October of 2020 and he ended up focusing on his pro wrestling career instead.

Jake Hager previously stated that he was hoping to get back into the cage sometime in 2022 and even had fight scheduled for October that year, but that didn’t happen either. While speaking during a virtual signing with K & S WrestleFest, Jake Hager confirmed that he is officially retired from MMA after Bellator didn’t give him a fight.

”Officially, I’m retired from MMA. I trained hard last year but Bellator was jerking me off and I retired and I am now just focusing on wrestling now.”

Jake Hager last competed in the Over Budget Charity Battle Royal at All Out. We will have to wait and see whether AEW will have anything major planned for Hager, now that his MMA career has come to an abrupt end.
