AEW is all about calling back to pro wrestling history. This week was no different, and MJF showed just how much of a student of the game he is. It turns out that The Devil is quite a math student, too.

Scott Steiner dropped a famous promo at the 2008 TNA Sacrifice event. That promo is known as the “Steiner Math” promo.

In case you need a refresher, Scott Steiner said in that famous promo, See the 3 way at Sacrifice, you got a 33 1/3 chance of winning, but I, I got a 66 and 2/3 chance of winning, because Kurt Angle KNOWS he can’t beat me and he’s not even gonna try! So Samoa Joe, you take your 33 1/3 chance, minus my 25% chance and you got an 8 1/3 chance of winning at Sacrifice. But then you take my 75% chance of winning, if we was to go one on one, and then add 66 2/3 per cents, I got 141 2/3 chance of winning at Sacrifice. See Joe, the numbers don’t lie, and they spell disaster for you at Sacrifice.”

During AEW Dynamite this week, MJF dropped his own version of the Steiner Math promo backstage. That was directed at Samoa Joe, just like Steiner’s famous promo.

As you can see in the clip below, MJF is all about the odds, and he knows the numbers. With Adam Cole by his side, MJF dropped quite a promo while Renee Paquette held the microphone.

MJF said that Samoa Joe better pray that he doesn’t win the tournament to face him at Grand Slam next week. Only time will tell if Joe listens, or if he does the math.
