AEW might have ridden a high with 81,000 fans in Wembley Stadium, but their tour is not over by a long shot. After all, there is no off-season in professional wrestling. They have a big show scheduled for Arthur Ashe Stadium next week for AEW Grand Slam III, but it might not feel like that big of a deal.

AEW is having a bit of an issue attracting the same attention for Arthur Ashe Stadium that they have in previous years. The first year that AEW booked the famous NYC tennis stadium, they did very well.

The second year AEW held Grand Slam in Arthur Ashe Stadium, they didn’t have that great of a turnout. In fact, AEW targeted fan video that showed exactly how many empty seats they had in the venue.

Wrestle Tix reports that AEW has a lot of work to do if they want to sell out Arthur Ashe Stadium this year. At this point, they have over 5,800 seats available in the 12,129 seat setup.

It was also noted that, “The last 5 days have been the best 5 days of movement for them so local advertising must have picked up. There’s still a lot of inventory to move on the floor and 100 level so you would think prices come down soon.” We will have to see what AEW announces this week on AEW Dynamite to increase interest for the show.

AEW will probably add a match or two to next week’s show during Dynamite this week. The company is coming off a string of big events to promote, but their return to Arthur Ashe Stadium may have been slightly ignored in the process.

What’s your take on AEW Grand Slam? Does it feel like that big of an event this year? Sound off in the comments to let us know what you think!
