LA Knight is a top Superstar for WWE, and he’s selling ton of merchandise. The company is amping up efforts to cash in, but his contract is a big matter of concern now.
Recent reports suggest that LA Knight and WWE are nearing a new five-year contract agreement, ensuring his continued presence in the company. However, it’s worth noting that WWE sources have mentioned that certain aspects of this story may not be entirely accurate.
Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that, “It is true that Knight and WWE have been engaged in extension talks, and that a five-year deal was offered.” That being said, those talks aren’t going as smoothly as some fans might hope.
However, we’re told the two sides were far apart on money as of now, and that no deal has been agreed to, and doesn’t appear imminent, but they’ll keep negotiating.
Another WWE higher up said that there isn’t truth to the idea that LA Knight’s push was tied to a new contract, citing that a significant number of wrestlers on the roster have deals coming up next year and are still getting pushes. Knight’s current WWE deal runs well into 2025, and has over a year and a half left on it.
We will have to see what LA Knight and WWE can figure out. It was noted that WWE and LA Knight have some time left in their current deal. That being said, there is probably a lot of money on the table for LA Knight at this point.
WWE is getting closer to really pulling the trigger on LA Knight’s push. Big things are coming for the former Eli Drake, as he is finally fulfilling his destiny as a WWE Superstar, and he wants to capture everything he can in the process.
